TOM Cross said he had "no doubt" that his new firm would get deals done this year after hiring a team of senior managers from Dana Petroleum, which he left following a bitter bid battle last year.

Mr Cross, who grew Dana from scratch into one of the UK's biggest oil and gas independents, said he is assessing six potential targets in the North Sea and West Africa.
