A FORMER senior Scottish policeman who dishonestly obtained information from police informants was given a six-month jail sentence yesterday.

Gordon Thomson, 43, who left Grampian Police amid controversy, admitted aiding and abetting a Leicestershire police officer to commit misconduct, but had his sentence suspended for a year.
