Summary
THIS is a tale of two cities, one called Dodge, the other named Doing Very Nicely. Outsiders think of them as one conurbation called "Glasgow", but insiders know better. They note the invisible walls that traverse the place, separating rich from poor, educated from ignorant, lucky from unlucky. They know what it means to be born on the wrong side of the divide, as Andrew Morton was.
The two-year-old was in every sense in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was out on the street watching a fire engine. He was meant to be safe in his big brother's arms, and in many other parts of the city he would have been. But this was Easterhouse and while Andrew was watching his fire engine, Mark Bonini, said to have been high on drugs, was firing an airgun out of a window.
