Vijay Singh will continue his quest to top the Official World Rankings when he lines up in a stellar field for the 50th staging of the Volvo PGA Championship at Wentworth Club, Surrey, from May 27 to 30. Singh further cut the gap on current world No.1 Tiger Woods when he beat the rain and his fellow competitors to win the Shell Houston Open at Redstone GC on the US PGA Tour on Monday.

The Fijian will start among the favourites for the e3.75m Volvo event but will face stiff competition from a high-quality field, headed by 2003 Volvo Order of Merit winner Ernie Els, Thomas Bjorn, Paul Casey, Darren Clarke, Retief Goosen, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Jose Maria Olazabal, Adam Scott, and defending champion Ignacio Garrido. BBC Television will provide live coverage over the West Course.
