ONE hundred years flashed past in the time it took Shettleston to win Saturday's Scottish Six-stage Road Relay Championships. The club's success, by more than two minutes from Hunters Bog Trotters with Ron Hill Cambuslang third, came in time to be included as a final glorious postscript to their centenary history.
As Martin Graham brought them home, 90-year-old Davie Morrison applauded with a justifiably moist eye. During the race, the former world over-75 10,000 metres champion and record-holder reminisced and relived the club's glories while anticipating this one. The centenary will officially be celebrated in September.See the full content of this document
