A MAN has become the first person in Scotland to have his conviction overturned after a landmark human rights ruling that saw three convicted killers and a double rapist appeal the verdicts in their cases.

Gary Louden, 24, successful challenged his guilty verdict for assaulting a young woman at a flat in Glasgow in July 2008, after the Crown told judges at the Court of Criminal Appeal in Edinburgh that it was conceding the appeal.
