TOUCH Bionics, the Scottish pioneer that makes bionic hands used by soldiers wounded in the war in Iraq, said it had agreed to a new loan facility from its principal investor Archangels after a number of high street banks turned them down.

The company, which is based in Livingston but also has a sizeable presence in the US, has been one of Scotland's major technology hopefuls since the commercialisation of its revolutionary i-LIMB in 2005.
