JACK McConnell's troubles over his holiday with Kirsty Wark reignited yesterday after it emerged Holyrood's standards watchdog is to investigate it.

Dr Jim Dyer is believed to have already completed a preliminary assessment about whether the first minister should have declared a family stay with the BBC presenter in 2003. He has now decided it is admissible, and will deepen his inquiries.
