Summary
Studying medicine in the UK in the1960s, I noted an antipathy to homeopathy and complementary medicine that seems to have become more hostile recently. While western conventional medicine has contributed significantly in treating acute and infectious diseases, its recent progress is limited to the laboratory and animal studies, and clinically it has little to offer in curing chronic ailments and most cancers.
A considerable aspect of disease, health and happiness is still a mystery. Homeopathy helps people, and the fact this may be due to a placebo effect is irrelevant. But it does that without the side- effects of most conventional medicine.
