ONE of Scotland's leading artists is having to sell more than 200 paintings from his private collection after running into financial problems.

Peter Howson, who in the past has sold works for more than GBP300,000, is being forced to auction the works - sketches, drawings, watercolours and oils - to raise money after a series of "bad business decisions" over recent years.
