If hyperbole carried any weight inside the boxing ropes, then David Haye would not be so diminished in comparison to Wladimir Klitschko. The Englishman has talked his way into the ring against the International Boxing Federation, International Boxing Organisation and World Boxing Organization heavyweight world champion, combining some loose morality with the brazen attitude and slick delivery of a natural showman.

But what confronts Haye is the blunt, even pitiless, understanding that words are powerless once the first bell rings.
