Chris Robinson, the Hearts chief executive, was assaulted by a supporter outside Tynecastle yesterday only hours after the club was given the go-ahead to leave Tynecastle and move to Murrayfield.

More than 50 Hearts supporters had protested outside Hampden before the SPL board meeting which ratified the controversial proposal which had created such anger among the Tynecastle faithful. After the meeting Robinson left the national stadium by a side door before being driven away.
