ITis not so much whisky galore as whisky no more. A tiny Hebridean island with a population of just 100 is facing a dry Christmas and new year after the landlords at the only pub called time and put the business into receivership.

Islanders on Colonsay, one of the most remote communities in the UK, were given little warning from the owners that the island's sole hotel was closing just a week before Christmas.
