BRITAIN'S temperate climate gives us the great advantage of being unlikely to suffer the severe food shortages which plague countries where droughts and floods occur regularly, but we produce only 63per cent of the food we need. That is a reduction of 10per cent from 20 years ago and there is no doubt that we could - and should - produce more.
