WHEN the elegant lady eased off the slipway of John Brown's yard in Clydebank in September 1967 to begin life as the QE2, fewwould have predicted that she was destined to enter quite so many record books. And within the past fewweeks anothermajormilestone has been passed.
On September 4, a mere 36 years, fourmonths and two days since hermaiden voyage, she became the longest serving Cunard vessel overtaking the record set by th SS Scythia almost half a century ago.
