LEADING union figures seeking to have reckless employers jailed for causing the deaths of workers or members of the public were angered yesterday by a vague promise of "progress by the summer".

Cathy Jamieson, the justice minister, told the conference she was determined make progress on the creation of an offence of corporate culpable homicide before the parliament's summer recess.
