TELECOMS Service Centres, the call centre company that is a mainstay of the economy in many island and rural towns, has racked up a second successive year of heavy losses that its chief executive blamed on a failed management buy-in.

Ken Hills, who was drafted in to lead a turnaround at TSC last year, said problems had set in after the pounds-23m takeover, which was backed by Lloyds TSB in 2003, went awry.
