Summary
Running through the Kenyan wilderness, Sarah Kelly learned much about where had come from and where she might go hence. Taking a brief hiatus from her first year of studies at the University of Dundee, the 18-year-old had expected to broaden her athletics experience with a first spell of training at high altitude as well as her horizons with a world far removed from her home in Cupar.
There was an obligatory trip to the safari park. The giraffes, she recounts, made a sizeable impression. Yet it was not what will linger in the memory. "It was even better going out for a run in the countryside," she stated. "You saw things as they are, how little the people have. It shows how spoiled we are and how fortunate. It's an unbelievable place. The people there have nothing yet they produce world-class athletes. It's inspirational."See the full content of this document
