THE 17-year-old lightweight boxer, Amir Khan, from Bolton, will carry a heavy burden at this year's Olympic Games. He will be the only UK fighter in Athens and is the youngest ever to qualify for the Olympics.

Khan earned his 60-kilo place by winning the Strandja Cup, in Bulgaria, last month. As he will not be 18 until December, he is still considered too young to box for a senior ABA title. Indeed, it was suggested he is too young for the Olympics, but the possibility of him electing to box for Pakistan was enough to quell such talk.
