POLICE in southwestern Germany say there is no news of the kidnapped wife of a bank chief executive four days after her abduction, even though her husband tried to pay the ransom.

Police in Heidenheim said 500 officers were searching yesterday for 54-year-old Maria Boegerl, who was kidnapped on Wednesday. Her family is offering EUR 50,000 (pound(s)43,000) for information leading to her discovery.
