Graham Coutts, 35, originally from Leven, Fife, who was found guilty of strangling a teacher to fulfil a "bizarre and macabre" sexual fantasy, has been given leave to challenge a point of law which could lead to a retrial.

The musician, of Waterloo Street, Hove, East Sussex, was convicted of murdering Jane Longhurst, 31, at Lewes Crown Court, East Sussex, and sentenced to life in February last year.
