AN attempt to force convicted killer Angus Sinclair to face a retrial for the World's End murders could fail even if the Government's Double Jeopardy Bill becomes law.

The warning was given by Patrick Layden, QC, the Commissioner to the Scottish Law Commission, in answer to a question at Holyrood's Justice Committee which is scrutinising the proposed legislation.
