PEARSE FLYNN, the Livingston chairman, last night revealed he first approached Paul Lambert to become manager of the club more than a year ago.

It was confirmed yesterday that the 35-year-old Celtic midfielder has signed a threeyear contract with the Almondvale club and will replace Richard Gough on June 1 after the former Rangers captain announced he was resigning.
