BRITAIN has more qualified accountants per head of population than anywhere else - about 250,000 - but pay rates among the elite of the profession remain startlingly robust.
A new survey of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland's 16,000 members found that they earn an average of GBP85,400 a year, nearly four times Scotland's national average wage of GBP22,230.
