MSPs yesterday were urged to sign a court petition in support of Kenny Richey, the Scot who has been held on death row for 17 years.

Clive Stafford-Smith, the British-born lawyer and veteran campaigner against America's death penalty, made an appeal at the Scottish Parliament for the politicians to support the case for a fresh appeal for Richey.
