THE three areas in the UK that have recorded the largest population decline in the past 10 years are in Scotland, research has revealed.

The population of the Western Isles has fallen 10.9per cent to 26,100, Inverclyde by 7.6per cent to 83,100 and Dundee by 7.1per cent to 143,100.
