Summary
THE cracking of the German Enigma Code took place 70 years ago, on May 9, by workers at Bletchly Park. Some of the workers were also stationed in Forestmoor, just outside Harrogate. Their war work still carried on in these two departments until the end of the Second World War.
In the early months of 1944 I was a medical in the Royal Army Medical Corps, stationed in Harrogate. Part of my duties there was to look after the medical care of the girls stationed at Forestmoor. They all had very high IQ's, but when they reported sick to me in the medical inspection room, I found them very difficult to question as they had been trained to be secretive.See the full content of this document
