THE Scottish Government has been accused of snubbing a bold vision for Scots literature in which writers would have been publicly celebrated and a high-profile academy established.

A working party headed by The Herald's literary editor, Rosemary Goring, expressed disappointment yesterday when ministers' responses to its report were revealed.
