ROSS Macdonald, joint managing director of property group Terrace Hill, has stepped down from front-line duties as part of his "phased retirement".

Macdonald, 66, and fellow joint managing director, Nigel Turnbull, have been "kicked upstairs" to become joint deputy chairmen, giving way to Philip Leech, who yesterday took over as managing director.
