GUS MacPHERSON will be officially confirmed as the new manager of Queen of the South today. MacPherson, who has been out of work since leaving St Mirren a year ago, has accepted an offer to succeed Kenny Brannigan, who left the Dumfries club at the end of last season.

MacPherson's will be reunited at Palmerston with Andy Millen, who will again become his assistant. The pair are expected to formally sign a one-year contract this afternoon.
