Marvin M Mitchelson, the American divorce lawyer who represented scores of Hollywood clients, and more often the unknown partners of stars, such as David Bowie, Bob Dylan and James Mason, in high- profile, big-money marital disputes, pioneered the legal revolution known as palimony.
