SHOPPERS show little sign of giving up their appetite for a bargain after discount clothing retailer Matalan said it has seen an 8.2per cent rise in like-forlike sales for the first three months of its financial year.

The privately-owned retailer said it planned to open three more stores in the UK this year, taking its chain to 203 outlets.
