JACK McConnell, the first minister, will co-operate with any inquiry by Holyrood's standards commissioner in the row over his connections with broadcaster Kirsty Wark, a spokeswoman said yesterday.

David Black, an architecture expert, has written to Dr Jim Dyer, the commissioner, and to MSP Brian Adam, convener of Holyrood's standards committee, calling for an investigation into the the yetto- be-screened documentary made by the Wark Clements TV company on the construction of Holyrood.
