Summary
Melvin Endsley, the country and western musician who wrote the words and music for the pop classic Singing the Blues, has died aged 70.
Endsley was born in Drasco, Arkansas in 1934. At the age of three he contracted polio, which left him confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life. It was while at the Crippled Children's Hospital in Memphis as a young teenager that he learned to play the guitar and started writing songs.See the full content of this document
