PARENTS and politicians last night criticised a council plan to merge secondary schools in a move they said would accentuate social divisions in one of Scotland's most deprived areas.
Inverclyde Council's education committee yesterday approved a scheme which will reduce the number of secondaries in the region from eight to five. Under the mergers, thousands of children will attend three different schools in as many years.See the full content of this document
