Mervyn King Hits Back Following Blanchflower Attack

BANK of England Governor Mervyn King yesterday claimed that former fellow interest rate-setter David Blanchflower had been "unwise" and "not sensible" in criticising publicly the conduct of Monetary Policy Committee meetings.

Blanchflower, in an article that was published last week in the New Statesman, called MPC chairman King "the old iron fist of the Bank of England".
