HEALTH Secretary Nicola Sturgeon's bid to introduce minimum pricing for alcohol has been defeated but the Scottish Government remains determined to press ahead with the plan.

The main opposition parties yesterday rejected the Health Secretary's appeal to rise above party politics and back the central plank of the Government's flagship Alcohol Bill.
