IAIN Duncan Smith is today due to unveil the UK Government's plan to overhaul the state pension system, moving to a single flat-rate payment of at least pound(s)155 a week, as he argued that most people no longer wanted to retire at 65.

The Work and Pensions Secretary will publish the Coalition's Green Paper, effectively a consultation document, on scrapping the current complex system and replacing it with a simpler one aimed at encouraging people to save for their retirement.
