Summary
Of all the reasons to dislike the documentarian, controversialist and professional Bush-baiter Michael Moore - such as his overdeveloped sense of his own importance, his man-of-thepeople schtick and his ability to bug the hell out of you even when you agree with what he says - surely the most irksome is the fact that his success will inevitably lead to Moore copyists who filch the style but have none of his weight. And not just in the literal sense.
Take Jamie Campbell (and the temptation to add "please" is awfully tempting). A well-spoken 27-year-old Londoner, for his documentary Martha & Me (Monday, 9pm, BBC2) he has taken the Moore model (a pinch of Bowling for Columbine, a sprig of Farenheit 9/ 11), added a dash of Louis Theroux and diluted to taste.
