ALASTAIR isn't allowed to phone Andrew, and Andrew doesn't make any calls to Alastair. The confused situation around Rangers' strained relationship with would-be buyer Andrew Ellis was clarified yesterday, but not by much, writes Michael Grant.

Rangers chairman Alastair Johnston claimed earlier this week that Ellis had twice backed out of planned meetings to discuss a takeover, and that talks with the London-based property developer had gone on too long without a resolution.
