4/5 "& Friends" concerts were once notorious for being excuses for pointless excess, where supposedly life-long ambitions of collaboration played into the hands of accountants. Not so with Kate Rusby. The friends that the Barnsley lass enlisted for her latest Celtic Connections appearance all had crucial roles to play in each song.
