NATIONAL Australia Bank's UK financial services business, of which Clydesdale bank is the major part, recorded a fourth successive year of reduced profits and the woman appointed to turn it round said she still had "a great deal" to do.

However, Lynne Peacock, who authorised controversial plans to axe 64 Clydesdale branches, insisted recovery was on track at the troubled operation.
