Summary
Name your company Shock N Awe and - in Glasgow parlance - you are cruisin' for a Bruisin'. Or maybe a brisk kicking to cut you down to size. But as this five-strong, all-male company from Wales begins to flex Muscle, a sense of well-directed shock does emerge as the guys openly express the painful uncertainty of what "being a man" means these days - and by the end, we are all in appreciative awe of performances that can speed-switch believable characters, spinning from robust comedy to touchingly melancholy reflection, with no props beyond some chairs and six moveable screens.
The five men on-stage are of different ages, origins, body types. You could say that all they have in common are XY chromosomes, alongside a willingness to mix text with movement and deliver both with fierce conviction.
