Summary
IT opened a month before the First World War began and for nearly a century it has cared for Glasgow's young from its base in Yorkhill. Now, as the Royal Hospital for Sick Children prepares to move to a new site in Govan, its place in the life of the city is to be celebrated in a book.
Combining oral testimonies with material drawn from the hospital archives and other sources, historian Dr Iain Hutchison will tell the story of Scotland's largest children's hospital ahead of its centenary year in 2014. In the book's pages will be written the tales of triumph and tragedy that make children's wards such emotive places for doctors, nurses and parents.See the full content of this document
