REPRESENTATIVES of NFU Scotland yesterday met Ross Finnie, the rural development minister, to discuss the range of problems facing dairy farmers including the possibility of a reduction in the price of milk paid to producers.

The meeting is part of a series of activities aimed at highlighting the commercial difficulties experienced by the sector, where as many as a third of producers have indicated that they intend to quit milking cows unless returns improve significantly.
