Emeritus Professor Noel Branton, who was the first dean of Strathclyde University's School of Business and Administration, the forerunner of the now internationally-famous Strathclyde Business School, has died. He was 97.

Noel Branton was born in the Midlands in 1906. Despite the Noel, he was not born on Christmas Day: it was merely that his mother liked the name.
