YOUR correspondent J Gordon is disingenuous in his letter regarding Donald Findlay (December 10). First, Mr Findlay is not a member of the board at Glasgow Rangers and has not been for some years. Secondly, the two Celtic players were not anathematised for their rendition of the Fields of Athenry.

Rather, it was raucous chants of "IRA" going on around them that offended. If this was, indeed, a supporters' club function as Mr Gordon suggests then it ref lects very badly on Celtic Football Club and on the judgment of the two players.
