STIRLING'S refuse service has been badly affected because its fleet of collection trucks keeps breaking down.

Council officials have been receiving about 60 complaints a day since Christmas from residents concerned that bins are not being emptied on the normal collection day. The authority admits it has had problems coping despite drafting in private agency crews and vehicles.
