win and lose: Paula Radcliffe dropped out of her second major Olympic race last night as Amir Khan, Britain's one-man boxing team, won a silver medal, with a chance of gold.

With eight laps to go and falling behind the leading pack in the 10,000m, Radcliffe, looking strained and tired, stopped running. The race was won by China's Sun Yingjie who sprinted to the finish.
