We all know that the golfing year was thoroughly compelling. From Luke Donald's transatlantic conquests to the major successes of Messrs McIlroy and Clarke; from Tiger Woods' reappearance on the winner's podium to the uplifting team triumphs of Europe's women and Great Britain & Ireland's amateurs in the Solheim Cup and the Walker Cup respectively.
